The Curse by 1Enary1 The Curse by 1Enary1
She was cursed for her disobedience and because she refused to bow to those who wronged her and betrayed her.
Curse is slowly spreading until it will consume her whole. Is there some hope for her and will she find a way how to reverse the spell or will
she be damned forever?
Another personal piece I just finished and it also took me forever to finish it. I think I've fainted.
Hope you like it ... comments and critique are always welcome :D (Big Grin)

Does she has got a name? I decided to draw her for my part of the trade and would like to add it in the deviation when it´s done. *-*

All in all your anatomy is really good and you've managed to capture the expression well. If you'd like a more realistic result, I'd suggest using more color on the skin. Right now the palette there is pretty limited and a bit bland. You could think about the kind of light you want (a.k.a. warm or cool) and make the tones accordingly: is it's warm light the highlights should also be a warmer color (like a light reddish pink or even orange or yellow) and the shadows would be cool (a purple or bluish color work really nice) and vice versa. It also gives the skin more life when you put some blush on her cheeks and nose, while putting some cool (green/blue) tones near the corners of her lips where the vessels can be seen through. One more small thing: the little reflection on her eye (the white spots) should have sharp outlines to suggest glossiness and should be only on the side where the light is coming from, i.e. on the left in this case. Sorry if critique wasn't what you were looking for. Keep up the good work!

You're most welcome! I love painting faces as well and looking at portraits, too. If you'd like you can poke me about stuff you're unsure of. I always use my husband's advice when I'm stuck on something not quite feeling right :D

I will definitely use this opportunity. :D I am basically self taught in painting portraits so any kind of advice is awesome. Thanks again. Love

Same here, although medical school helps quite a bit with anatomy. I always struggle when I do it without any reference, though. But you know how it goes, it's much easier to notice mistakes in other people's paintings than your own.

That is so true with my own work it is never ending story because I don´t know what´s wrong but when it´is someone else's work I can immediately tell what is amiss. ;)
